I've Got That Lovin' Feeling....

Posted by PicasaWhat goes around...

(can) come around!!!

This chinoiserie coffee table has been in Mom's life - in every living room - since I remember.  In fact, the top picture is even older than I am!!!  The little ole thing has been in our keeping for at least 60 years, mine for 17 since Mom died.  My brothers and I were unbelievably civil and generous when splitting up her goods.  Each of us have parts of Mom...that particularly appealed to us

It's more worn or I'd say more LOVED!  And means the world to me.
Is there something in your home that you treasure?

What a great picture and what a treasured piece of furniture. It's one of those if this "table" could talk...
I have an old cowhide chair that has been in my family for 125 years. I did a post on it a while back. That is really a treasure to me.

There are many things of greater value but the one piece that stands out when I think of treasures is the stone garden bench in my yard. It was my grandparents and I remember sitting on it while my grandfather read stories to me. The amazing thing here is that he spoke very little English. I still listened and loved the stories.

Oh Va, I forgot to say how much I love the rug, the wallpaper and the style of the sofa. I do think I would lower those pictures! ha! Aren't old photos the best!!!!

I adore your mom's table!
You would never find a piece like this today.
It is so unique, but being your mom's is what makes it so special.
I have a very old brass bird cage that belonged to my great grandmother and namesake. Funny story goes with it too! I will always treasure it!

Lovely-it looks to be a mid 20th century black and gold Chinoiserie table. I love it.

i have a wooden bowl that used to belong to my great grandmother lottie back in walton, indiana. i believe she used it for feeding the chickens. it hung in our laundry room when i was growing up. it's in my care now, and it has served popcorn, tortilla chips, and every salad i have made for the past 10 years. all the butter & vinaigrette has brought back its gloss.

crazy~good post here, va.
L♥Ve these how these photos transport this gorgeous table back in time...
it is so much more than a table now.
it is a beautifully displayed artifact. ♥

It is incredibly gorgeous Virginia! I love that you dug up that old photo to show us...what a treasure.

PS- Your comment made me laugh yesterday and I love that you keep the prep h in the fridge. Yes, I'm sure your US purchased tube is working just as well as my Canadian version. :)
